What you won't find in my soaps!
WHAT YOU WON'T FIND IN MY SOAPS!

I had not intended on including this page on the website, but after feedback from several people, have decided that it might be a good idea.

This page highlights a few key ingredients found in "shop-bought" commercial soaps, which you won't find in my products.

I hope you find it informative and feel free to contact me regarding your feeback and opinions.

SLS, SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate)
Used to enhance the lather of commercial soaps - this ingredient is also used in brake fluids and stamp ink!  This synthetic chemical causes itchiness, irritation, inflamation, dryness of the skin.  Linked to skin allergies.
(To enhance the lather of my soaps, I use Castor Oil, which naturally improves lather beautifully!  To increase this, I use Palm, Coconut and Castor together - called by some the "Trinity of Lathering Oils!" and for good reason.)

PARABENS
The most concerning of all the ingredients added to commercial cosmetics, including soaps.  Parabens have been linked to many skin conditions and allergies but most concerning is the link to cancers.  Parabens are absorbed through the skin (no need to ingest) and in tests have been linked to low sperm count in men and increased oestrogen levels in women.  (There is ongoing debate as to the effects of parabens on unborn babies and the development of their genitalia, with some people in the medical profession still trying to prove that parabens have alot to answer for in the area of birth defects - particularly those of the genitalia.)  Another major concern around parabens is the link to breast cancer.  Again, not absolutely proven, enough links for some in the medical profession to speak out against parabens.

Rather ironic, is that a particular paraben has been linked to premature ageing of the skin - and this is the very paraben used in anti-ageing creams and formulas!

FRAGRANCE OILS
While many people may be able to use fragrance oils on their skin with no problem at all, Fragrance Oils (not to be confused with Essential Oils), are a completely synthetic product.  Fragrance oils have chemical ingredients which can cause irritation, dryness and itching of the skin.
